ABOUT US

We’re entrepreneurs and biologists with a groundbreaking idea that is sure to disrupt the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry- to not make a profit off of human health.  At Philanthropic Pharma, we believe that human health is a basic need, and no one should profit off technology that helps that cause.  We are focused on developing technology to identify, prevent, and treat issues that threaten human lives.  Our rapid screening technologies allow us to focus not only on major health issues like heart disease, cancer, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), but also on orphan diseases commonly neglected by Big Pharma.  Have a specific need that you'd like to address?  Contact us today to set up a meeting to discuss.

Dr. David Stachura standing over a mixer in Chico CA

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & Founder

Dr. David Stachura completed his undergraduate training in molecular biology at Lehigh University and his graduate training at the University of Pennsylvania medical school.  He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at University of California San Diego, and was an Assistant Research Professor there for several years.  He moved to Chico, CA in 2014 and worked as a professor at California State University, Chico (Chico State) for 10 years.  During that time, he ran a large successful laboratory on campus, mentoring a multitude of undergraduate and Master's students that have gone on to become scientists, doctors, and more.  Dr. Stachura knew that he wanted to have more of a direct effect on human health, so he started his own consulting company and also started working for Xytogen Biotechnology, the parent company of FACTORFIVE Skincare and SpecBio.  He is currently the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and Chief Operations Officer (COO) at  Xytogen, where he continues to hire and mentor current and former Chico State students. He has filed for multiple patents and continues to present scientific findings at national and international conferences.

While Dr. David Stachura is a molecular biologist first and foremost, he spent most of his career understanding embryonic development of hematopoietic stem cells, which are responsible for making blood.  This expertise in developmental hematopoiesis and immunology led Dr. Stachura to create some of the first cell culture lines for dissecting the molecular control of hematopoiesis in zebrafish.  These cell lines allow rapid screening of genetic alterations of the stem cell niche and easy drug testing.  They have been used to validate drugs currently in use in the clinic.  This technology is part of the technological strategy employed by Philanthropic Pharma.

Overall, Dr. Stachura boasts over 20 years of experience with adult stem cells and biotechnology.  He has lead numerous teams of diverse scientists to achieve directed goals.  He has published over 40 scientific articles, book chapters, and reviews, has won numerous awards, and received many grants from the NIH, NSF, and private foundations.  He's authored multiple US and international patents and even consulted with companies to develop cell lines for cellular agriculture.  Dr. Stachura decided that the next step in his scientific career should be to develop Philanthropic Pharma to use what he has developed over the past 20 years to help dramatically improve human health and well-being.
